Gary Wynn Scott

Gary Wynn Scott, born July 1, 1943 in Springfield, passed away peacefully on
Sept. 15, 2020 after a short illness. Scott graduated from Willard High School
in 1961. He served in the Vietnam War from 1966–1968 and was awarded
the Bronze Star and other commendations. He assisted on the family farm
where he developed his entrepreneurial spirit.
Scott built a successful business buying and selling heavy equipment to
buyers all over the United States and retired in 2010 after more than 40
years in his trade.
Scott is survived by his mother Louise, sister Pat, son Alex and his wife
Crystal Scott, and daughter Laura and husband Ross Johnson, four
grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2020 at Gorman-Scharpf
Funeral Home with a graveside service at 11 a.m. Sept. 22, 2020 in Eastlawn
Cemetery, Springfield.
