Hazel Blehm Freeman

Hazel Blehm Freeman, 93, passed away Aug. 30, 2026, in Canon City, Colo. She was born on June 16, 1933, in Simla, Colo., to Ramond and Georgia (Bowman) Hammel. She was united in marriage to Dean Blehm, and they shared 35 years together and raised five children before his passing.
She is survived by her children, Don Blehm and wife Carol, Cathy Blehm, Jerry Blehm, and Cheryl Sawyer; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Tozier.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ramond and Georgia Hammel; husband, Dean Blehm; son, Ron Blehm; and brothers, Lenard Hammel and Bill Hammel.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove. Visitation will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Good Samaritan Boys Ranch.
