Improving times highlight Republic swim results at Show Me Meet in Springfield

Republic swimmers turned in several personal bests at the Show Me 2020 meet in Springfield, and those improvements resulted in top-eight finishes in several events.
Republic’s 400-yard freestyle relay team (Karissa Metzger, Quinn McCrea, Sarah Baker, and Mady McCrea) finished second overall with a time of 4:32. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Kathryn Flippin, Yelayna Jakes, Lena Mais, and Arielle Sumners finished third.
Karissa Metzger shaved .29 seconds off her best in the 50- yard freestyle, finishing second. She took third in the 100-yard but- terfly by improving her
previous best by 1.11 seconds.
Sarah Baker improved her 100-yard backstroke time by nearly 1.9 seconds and shaved almost five full seconds off her previous best in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing sixth and eighth, respectively.
Mady McCrea took second in the 100-yard butterfly with a time improvement of .69 sec- ond. She also finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Quinn McCrea beat her previous personal best by more than four seconds in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing fifth.
Lena Mais finished seventh in the 100-yard backstroke.
