James “Jimmy Don” Salchow

James “Jimmy Don” Salchow, 78, Billings, passed away peacefully in his home, Oct. 15, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec. 9, 1941 in Aurora, to James and Bunice (Ayres) Salchow.He graduated from Billings High School. He then enlisted in the Air Force, serving four years. He had four children, Rena, Donnie, David and Tammy. Hewas passionate about blood donation and apheresis platelet donation. He proudly achieved his 100 gallon donation accomplishment.Salchow and wife Linda recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Salchow is preceded in death by his father and a sister, Sue Vandergrift.Left to mourn his passing are his mother Bunice; wife Linda; children Rena Middleton and husband Todd, Donnie Shepard and wife Kala, David Salchow and wife Ann and Tammy Jacobs and husband Christopher; 10 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, extended family and countless friends. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church (804 US-60, Republic, MO) or to American Red Cross (313 Battlefield Rd, Springfield, MO 65807).
