Joan (Andrus) Logan

Joan Logan, 91, of Hurley, passed away in her home surrounded by
her family Oct. 25, 2020. Logan was preceded in death by her
husband John Ronald “Bill” Logan, 79, a decorated World War II
veteran serving in the 13th Infantry who died in 2001. She was born
nearby at Oto on June 16, 1929 to Jess and Cora Mae (Blades)
Andrus. Joan and Bill were married on March 30, 1950 and
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2000. They lived and
raised their children on their farm east of Hurley.
Logan was a retired farm woman, but never retired as a homemaker,
neighbor, and child sitter for her family. She was member of the
Hurley United Methodist Church.
Logan is survived by her three children and their spouses: Dr.
Michael J. and Wilma Jean Logan of Canton, Miss., Mary Ann and Joe
Lakins of Clever, and Kora Sue “Susie” and David Lindsey of Hurley;
six grandchildren. In addition, and eight great-grandchildren. She is
survived by her brother Kenneth “Rusty” Andrus near Galena and
sister Imogene Wilson of Nixa. Brothers and sisters who preceded
her in death are John Andrus, J.D. Andrus, Nadine Wilson, and Verna
Mae Andrus Tilley.
Open visitation was at Meadors Funeral Home, Clever chapel from 5-
7 pm on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020. Graveside services were at 10
a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery located south of Clever
where Logan was buried next to her husband, Bill. The Reverend
Joyce Rush and the Reverend Larry Winfree officiated.
