Lady Pirates best Billings, fall to Buffalo Lady Bison
The Ash Grove High School girls basketball team split their two games last week, while the boys team lost two games in the Crane Invitational Tournament.
The Lady Pirates traveled Billings on Jan. 11 and came home with a 50-45 win. Briley Bagley led Ash Grove with 11 points; Khloe Moad chipped in 10 points, Patsy Gorski had seven points and
Kennedi Climer ended the game with six points.
Ash Grove hosted Buffalo on Jan. 7, and after a hard fought game, came out on the wrong side of the score, losing to the Lady Bison, 68-63.
Moad led the Lady Pirates with 22 points; Climer had 12 points, Emma Eagle- burger kicked in 10 points, Riley Hammons had nine points and Bagley ended the game with eight points.
Ash Grove now sits at 6-8 on the season and will spend the week playing in the Lady Comet Classic in Marionville. The tournament was scheduled to start on Monday and will conclude on Saturday.
Boys
The Ash Grove boys team traveled to Crane to take part in the Crane Invitational last week.
The Pirates lost to Walnut Grove 67-50 on Jan. 8 and
lost to Marionville 54-42 on Jan. 10.
Ash Grove had one more game at the tournament but the results of that game and the opponent were not made available at the time of this writing.
With the losses, the Pi- rates record fell to 2-13 on the season. Ash Grove will host Greenwood Jan. 17.
