Lady Tigers soccer drops pair of games, grabs No. 3 seed in districts

The Willard High School girls’ soccer team and baseball team where both in action last week. As the Lady Tigers dropped a pair of games, the Tiger baseballers won both of theirs.

Soccer
The Lady Tigers traveled to Joplin on Friday, May 6, and came home with a 2-0 loss. Willard would lose by that same score when they traveled to Ozark on Tuesday, May 3.
“We played a great game, we just couldn’t score,” said head coach Jamie Waddell.
 With the losses, Willard falls to 11-6 on the season and were scheduled host Branson, yesterday and Logan-Rogersville, tomorrow.
 Willard will be the No. 3 seed when they enter the Class 3, District 6 tournament on Monday, May 16, in Webb City.
 Branson is the top seed, followed by Carl Junction, Willard, Webb City, Springfield Parkview, Neosho, Springfield Hillcrest and McDonald County.

Baseball
In baseball, Willard picked up two more wins, as the Tigers traveled to Excelsior Springs on Saturday, May 7, and defeated Excelsior Springs, 13-7 and Pembroke Hill, 9-1.
Willard is now 25-6 on the season and were scheduled to host three games this week, beginning with Ozark on Monday, before playing Joplin, yesterday and ending the week against Columbia Rock Bridge, today.
The Tigers will be the No. 1 seed when Class 5, District 6 tournament action starts in Branson on Tuesday, May 17.
Willard is the top seed, followed by Springfield Glendale, Branson, West Plains, Marshfield, Bolivar, Hillcrest and Parkview.
