Larry Boyd

Larry Boyd, 79, of Walnut Grove passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, in Mercy Hospital of a sudden illness. Boyd was born in Springfield, on Sept. 25, 1942, to Robert C. and Wilma (Perryman) Boyd. He was a lifelong resident of Walnut Grove. On June 7, 1963, Boyd married Jo Boggs and to this union three children were born.
Boyd retired as plant manager of Mid-America Dairy, Springfield, after 35 years of service. He was a 1960 graduate of Walnut Grove High School. He was a member of Walnut Grove First Baptist Church and the O’Sullivan Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. He had received his 50-year membership pin.
Boyd is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wilma Boyd.
Boyd is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jo Boyd of the home; children, Jana Hyden and husband Terry of Walnut Grove, Michele Thomazin and husband Brock of Willard, Rodney Boyd and wife Felicia of Springfield; seven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters, and his extended family.  
A public, Masonic service was at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022, at Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home, Walnut Grove, with visitation immediately following until 8 p.m. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at the funeral home with burial following at Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Greene Lawn Cemetery, Walnut Grove or St. Jude’s Research Hospital and may be left at the funeral home.
