Lawrence Scritchfield

Lawrence Scritchfield, 69, of Terrell, Texas (formerly of Ash Grove) passed away on Sept. 29, 2019. He was born in Springfield to the late Helen (Andrews) and Albert Scritchfield.
He grew up in Ash Grove where he attended school, graduating with the class of 1967. He enlisted in the Air Force during Vietnam and served as an aircraft mechanic. He met the love of his life, Teka Bird, in 1987 and they lived in Granbury, Texas until moving to Terrell in 2004. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed camping. He enjoyed landscaping and in 2016, the couple was awarded “Yard of the Month”. He continued to nurture the yard after his wife’s passing in 2017 and was awarded “Yard of the Month” a second time. He was of the Christian faith.
He worked for Roadway Trucking for a number of years delivering freight loads around the DFW area. He was presented the Million Mile Award for driving that number of miles accident free.
Scritchfield is survived by: his children; grandchil- dren; and great-grandchildren; a niece and nephew; as well as a host of friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Teka Bird; and sister, Charlotte. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
