Mary Ann Day (Hessee)

Mary Ann Day (Hessee), 88, of Republic, passed away on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, after lingering complications from suffering a stroke in June, 2023. She was born on Jan. 11, 1938, to Arthur and Nina Hessee in Springfield.
She attended school in Springfield and graduated from Central High School in 1955.
She married Bearl Day on Nov. 23, 1963, and shared 57 years together until his passing Feb. 21, 2021.They became a family of five including Bearl’s sons, Rickey, Danny, and Larry and loved each one dearly. Three years later, a daughter, Kimberli, was welcomed into the family.
She spent several years as a homemaker but later after the kids were grown, she went to work at the Greene County Courthouse in the Assessor’s office until her retirement.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Republic.
She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Bearl, parents, her big brother, Gary Hessee, and her son, Rick. 
She is survived by four children, Kimberli Cole and husband Greg, Danny Day and wife Donna, Larry Day and wife Gail, and daughter in-law Cindy Day, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. and service at 11 a.m. at Meadors Funeral Home, 314 N. Main, Republic. Final resting place will be held at a later date at Wade Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to First Baptist Church (305 N. Main Ave, Republic MO) or to the Operational Christmas Shoebox Crusade.
