Mary Lou Farmer

Mary Lou Farmer, 91, of Manhattan, Kan., formally of Russell, Kan. and Willard, passed away, Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019. She was born on July 13, 1928, in Clarksdale, Miss., to Charles and Sarah (Eddy) Silverblatt. On Jan. 28, 1951, Mary Lou and Sam Farmer were united in marriage. They shared over 68 years together.
Farmer was a graduate of Clarks- dale High School. She was active in the Congregational Church in Russell, Kan., and Presbyterian church in Willard.
Farmer is survived by her hus- band, Sam of the home; sons, Neal Farmer and wife Debbie of Manhattan, Charles Blond Farmer and wife Marlene of Washington state, Samuel Eddy Farmer of Kansas City; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; 10 great- grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition, Mary Lou had two additional AFS sons that she loved as her own. Norman Hay, Geneva, Switzerland and Hiro Saito Tokyo, Japan and their families. Also nieces, nephews other family and many wonderful friends.
Farmer was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Charles Eddy Silverblatt.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019 at Willard Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Willard. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Willard Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Wesley Cemetery, Willard.
