Republic resident Formuzan killed in June 11 traffic collision
A Republic resident was killed during a traffic accident on June 11. According to a report filed last week by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Yuri Formuzan, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2011 Dodge 1500 pickup truck crossed the center line while he was driving southward on Route N and struck an oncoming 2020 Kenworth tractor trailer head-on. The driver of the tractor trailer, Danny West, was not injured.The MHSP reported that it was unknown whether Formuzan was wearing a safety device at the time of the accident. West, 62, was wearing a safety device. Per state law, West was tested for alcohol. Both vehicles received total damage and were towed from the scene.
