NV boys place third at state

The Nodaway Valley boys finished third at the state golf meet, which was held in Marshalltown last Friday and Saturday.  It’s the highest finish at state for the boys.

NV finished the first day of competition in third place, just five strokes out of first.  Freshman Spencer Lamb was in ninth place with a round of 77.

The second day went just like the first day, with the Wolverines finishing the tournament in third place with a team score of 648.

Jackson Lamb turned things around on the second day and finished tied for 10th place overall with a total score of 157.  

All four scoring golfers finished high on the two-day leader board.  Sam Marnin finished tied for 14th with a 159.  Wes Davis and Spencer Lamb finished tied for 21st with scores of 166.

Noah Cooper also shot for the Wolverines, finishing tied for 47th place with a score of 190.

Team scores- East Buchanan-Winthrop 620; Newman Catholic 643; NV 648; Winfield-Mt. Union 670; Griswold 671; Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 677; Edgewood-Colesburg 689; AGWSR-Ackley 691.
