Orvel Dean Smith
Orvel Dean Smith, 82, of Ash Grove, Missouri passed away September 16, 2019 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Orvel Dean
Smith was born November 10, 1936 in Warren, Michigan.
Orvel worked as a skilled machinist in Michigan until retire- ment to Missouri.
Orvel married Donna Jean Orchard in 1956 and together they had 4 children; Kim Brown, Ash Grove, Cary Marrs, Davison, Michigan, Timothy Smith, War- ren Michigan and Bary Smith, Scranton, Kansas.
He has three surviving sisters, Myrtle Bowker, Arlene Walters and Barbara Binzer, whom reside in Michigan.
Orvel has seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren whom he loved very much. Berrah Brown Jr. and wife Taylor, Jenny Brown, all of Ash Grove, Ruth Kleast, San Diego, California, Amy Fomish, Lafayette, Indiana, Ben Smith and wife Monica, Bath, Michigan, Jacob Smith, Warren, Michigan and Megan Smith, Warren, Michigan. Great grandchildren, Grayson Smith, Berrah Mac Brown, Josie Brown, Chelsye Graham and Chase Hansen.
Orvel was preceded in death by his parents, John R. and Helen M. (Burns) Smith, brothers, Don Smith, Jay Smith and Curtis Stone, and one sister, Donna Mae Smith.
In his youth, Orvel loved to alter car engines and turn them into the fastest hot rods so he could beat his buddies in street races.
He was a lifetime member of the NRA, since 1983. He enjoyed gun sports, fishing in Canada, tinkering in his shed, and going down country roads on ‘piddling’ expeditions with his grandchildren.

Orvel will be laid to rest in Sinking Creek Cemetery, Everton, Missouri.
