Pauline May (Cantrell) Keithley

Pauline May (Cantrell) Keithley, 91, of Clever, passed away Monday, Dec. 30, 2019. She was born May 16, 1928 to Herbert Pinckney and Ethel May (Vaughn) Cantrell at their home in Clever.
Known as Polly to family and friends, she was an artistic person who enjoyed various activities including playing piano. She married John Keithley on June 20, 1948, and was a member of the First Christian Church in Clever for many decades. She became a teacher with a long and colorful career. It began in a one- room schoolhouse in the community of Sodom, which was near Marionville.
Survivors include two daughters, Debby Longoria of Clever; Angela Branson of Eugene; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by John Keithley; one sister, Marjorie Mendieta; one brother, Herbert Cantrell, Jr.; and one daughter, Elaine Jennings.
Visitation was held on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020 from 10-11 a.m. in the First Christian Church, Clever. Fu- neral services were also held on Jan. 2 beginning at 11 a.m. also in the First Christian Church. Burial was in Frazier Cemetery, Boaz, which took place immediately following the funeral service.
