Phillis A. Gold

Phillis A. Gold of Republic, formerly of Marionville, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 88. She was born Nov. 19, 1932 in Marionville, to Raymond and Millie (Metcalf) Morris. She was the eldest of three children.
Gold graduated from Marionville High School in 1950 and then attended MSU. She married Hosea Gold on June 7, 1951. She and Hosea had three children, Rodney, Johnny and Kathy. Phillis and Hosea became members of Marionville Baptist Church, and were still members at her passing.
Gold was a member of the Town & Country Extension Club where she developed many friendships through the years that brought her much happiness.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her brother; William “Billy” Morris and a daughter-in-law; Laurie Kennedy.
Gold is survived by her loving husband of almost 70 years, Hosea; sons Rodney Gold and his wife Donna and Johnny Gold; daughter Kathy Vaught and her husband Dean, six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Sharon Hubbard and her husband Sid, as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 in Marionville IOOF Cemetery with Pastor Lee Miller officiating.
