Pumpkin Daze set for return, moved to J.R. Martin Park
After a two-year hiatus, thanks to the pandemic, Republic's annual fall festival, Pumpkin Daze, will return for its 30th anniversary Saturday, Oct. 2. The 30th anniversary year also coincides with the 150th anniversary of the founding of the city of Republic, which will also be celebrated.
The dual event, which is being hosted not only by the Pumpkin Daze Committee but also the city of Republic, is expected to draw such a crowd that the entire kit and caboodle will be moved from downtown Republic to J.R. Martin Park, 300 E. Hines.
The major changes were announced last week online by the city of Republic. Although no further details of the sesquicentennial celebration were given, it is expected to be a blowout celebration.
