The Republic swim team broke three school records at the Kirkwood Girls Invitational, including two relay marks that were broken multiple times during the two-day meet.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Amelia Beaver, Sara Chism, Elise Replogle, and Aubree Tinsley set a new school record of 1:52.22 in Friday’s preliminaries. The same group had set the previous mark of 1:53.92 earlier this season.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Tinsley, Beaver, Mei Pruett, and Replogle also rewrote the record books twice. They first broke the record with a time of 4:15.44 in preliminaries, then lowered it again to 4:14.51 in finals. That broke the previous record of 4:19.44 held by Karissa Metzger, Quinn McCrea, Kathryn Flippin, and Mady McCrea.
Beaver added an individual record in the 100-yard backstroke preliminaries, finishing in 1:11.56 to edge past Karissa Metzger’s previous mark of 1:11.69.
Replogle advanced to finals in both her individual events. She placed 14th in the 200-yard individual medley and 12th in the 100-yard breaststroke with a personal best time of 1:13.82. The 200 free relay team placed 11th in finals, and the 400 free relay team finished 12th.
