Republic swimmers break 3 school records at Southwest Missouri Meet

Three school records fell for Republic at the Southwest Missouri Invitational finals in Springfield Saturday. The Lady Tigers were led by Elise Replogle’s fourth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly.
Amelia Beaver set a new school record in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing first in the consolation final and seventh overall with a time of 1:07.65.
Two relay teams also established new marks for Republic. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Aubree Tinsley, Beaver, Sara Chism, and Replogle set a record of 1:50.83. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Tinsley, Mei Pruett, Beaver, and Replogle broke another record with a time of 4:11.41.
Replogle finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly championship final with a time of 1:06.92. She added a 10th-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke consolation final, clocking 1:14.15.
The team will learn its state qualifiers Feb. 16.
