Republic wins four swim medals

Republic’s two swim seniors, Bryce Martin and Seth Lock, were recognized along with other seniors at the Southwest Missouri Championships.
Republic won four medals at the Southwest Missouri Championships in Springfield Saturday.
Bryce Martin brought home two medals, and Seth Lock and Brady Lewis had one each.
Martin won (and set a new school record) in the 200-yard individual medley. He finished third with a time of 2:03.78, shaving about two seconds off his previous best. Martin also won a medal in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing sixth. He had set a new school record (58.70) in the same event Friday during a preliminary heat.
Brady Lewis won his medal in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing sixth with a time of 59.53. Lock also medaled in that event, finishing fifth at 57.13. That was nearly as good as the school record (57.10) he had set on Friday in prelims.
Lock did not medal in the 50-yard freestyle, but he set a school record in that event Friday, as well, with a time of 23.31.
