Sapp finishes 11th at Class 2 girls state meet after great season

All fall sports for Ash Grove High School have now come to an end, as the boys and girls cross country teams finished up their season and football ended their season.
Millison Sapp led the Lady Pirates cross country team all season, as she finished 11th at the Class 2, cross country meet in Columbia on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday Nov. 4.
For the season, Sapp has taken first place five times, is the Southwest Conference champion and finished second at the district meet. She held the fourth fastest time in Class 2 this season, 12:49.23 and had a top 100 fastest time in the state. To top it all off, she was the top freshman female runner in the state for Class 2 and made the Class 2 all-state team.
Ash Grove’s Kacee May medaled in six of the seven meets she raced in this season and finished in the top 15 of all of them. She finished eighth at districts and finished 34th out of 157 at the state meet.

Pirates football season comes to end at the hands of Cabool in second round of district playoffs
In football, the Pirates traveled to Cabool to play in the second round of the Class 1, District 1 playoffs on Friday, Nov. 3, and came home with a 40-6 loss to end their season. Although the halftime margin was much tighter, 14-6, the Pirates offense was a no show in the second half. There were no statistics provided by the coaching staff for this game. Ash Grove ends their season at 6-4.
