SYBIL PAULETTE (SALCHOW) PHILLIPS

Sybil “Paulette” (Salchow) Phillips, 81, of Billings passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024. She was born in Vallejo, Calif. on June 18, 1943.
She was raised in Billings, graduating from Billings High School.
She married Richard “Dick” Phillips in 1983 and they were married for 39 years before his passing on Sept. 11, 2022.
She moved to Springfield where she worked various jobs and was instrumental in allowing women to serve as police officers in Springfield; serving as one of the first women police officers from 1974 to 1982. After leaving SPD she attended Wedgewood Beauty School and worked as a beautician until the death of her sister in 1985. She then worked for MOCIC as a Criminal Analyst before retiring.
She survived breast cancer in 2010, was a volunteer for the Honor Flight of The Ozarks and a former volunteer at the Christian County Sheriff’s Office.
She is survived by Brett Phillips and his family of Portland, Ore. and Ryan Edwards and his family in Atlanta, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick and her parents.
No services are planned. She will be buried at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery with her husband. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home in Ozark.
