Tiger football falls to Republic in district playoffs

Willard boys’ soccer loses to Carthage; All-COC West team announced

The 2025 football season has come to an end for the Willard Tigers after a 62-14 loss to Class 5, fifth ranked Republic in an opening round Class 5, District 6 playoff game at Republic on Thursday, Oct. 30.
Kaidan Snyder finished the game 9-24 for 257 yards and two touchdowns, Greyson Walden was the leading rusher with 79 yards on 15 carries and KeShawn Close led with 123 yards on three catches and two touchdowns. Willard finished the season with a 1-9 record.
Soccer
The Tigers boys’ soccer team will enter Class 3, District 6 play with an 18-6 record, after losing to Carthage at home, 2-1 on Tuesday, Oct. 28. Willard was scheduled to play against Marshfield on Monday night in Springfield in an opening round district playoff game.
All-COC West
The All-Central Ozark West softball team has been released, with the Lady Tigers placing five players on the team. Juniors Callie Ebert (Pitcher/DP), Paxtyn Piper (left field) and DeLaney Dixon (pitcher) were all named to the first team.
Juniors Emily Barr (first Base) and Alivia Arauz (catcher) were named to the second team. Neosho senior Olivia Emory (pitcher) was named the Player of the Year. Willard won the COC West division with a 5-1 record and finished the season 31-7 overall.
