USDA invests $3 million for new healthcare clinic in Willard

The Trump Administration, along with Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development State Director for Missouri Jeff Case, announced last week that the USDA is investing $3 million to construct a healthcare clinic in Willard.
“Many rural Americans face challenges accessing vital medical care without traveling outside the communities they call home,” said Case. “Ensuring rural residents have access to local, quality healthcare is a top priority for USDA. Today’s investment to CMH Properties to build a state-of-the-art healthcare clinic in Willard not only continues our long-term partnership with CMH and expands rural Missourians’ healthcare options but is foundational to positively benefitting the region’s rural economy.
CMH Properties will use a $3 million Community Facilities Loan to purchase land and construct a more than 8,000 sq. ft. Physicians Clinic on a highly visible site in Willard. The facility will contain office space for two full-time family practice physicians, four mid-level providers, two mental health providers, and rotating specialty physicians with dedicated exam rooms; workspaces tailored to those specialties; 14 exam rooms dedicated to family practice, pediatrics, walk-in clinics, and specialty physicians; and an ophthalmology eye exam lane. In addition, the clinic will include an X-ray machine, laboratory services, two dedicated procedure rooms, clinic and case manager offices, a nursing station, waiting and registration areas, a covered drop off at the main entrance, storage, and staff support areas. This funding will assist CMH Properties in expanding healthcare options for Willard and the surrounding rural area.
More than 100 types of projects are eligible for Community Facilities funding. Eligible applicants include municipalities, public bodies, nonprofit organizations, and federally recognized Native American tribes. Projects must be in eligible rural areas with a population of 20,000 or less. Grant applications will be accepted on a continual basis until funds are exhausted.
USDA Rural Development provides loans and grants to help expand economic opportunities and create jobs in rural areas. This assistance supports infrastructure improvements; business development; housing; community facilities such as schools, public safety and health care; and high-speed internet access in rural areas.
