Wallace Joe Biellier

Master Sergeant Wallace Joe Biellier, 92, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2020 with his family at his bedside in Cameron, following a brief illness.Biellier not only retired from 20 years of service in the U.S. Army, but also served as a district manager for the Springfield Leader-Press in the late 60’s before taking a position as a career/job placement counselor for the MO Division of Employment Security in Springfield, retiring after 23 years of service from that organization. Born in Republic, and a long-time resident of Springfield following his military retirement, Biellier was known to many in the sports divisions in the area, as he umpired and refereed multiple games throughout the city in his spare time over the years. Biellier was a member of Seminole Baptist Temple and was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Ailene (Rice) Biellier, his parents, Rev. Ralph Onas and Bessie Biellier, his sister, Rowena Stewart Brown, two sons-in-law and one grandson. He is survivedby his three children: Linda (Stan) Peters, Wallace II (Jackie), and Donna Gonzales; two grandsons, two step-granddaughters, and several great grandchildren. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 18, 2020 at Meadors Funeral Home Chapel in Republic , followed by a private family burial with military honors in Garoutte Cemetery in Republic, the following day with services performed by Pastor Lee Miller of First Baptist Church in Republic.
