Willard Lady Tiger soccer picks up two wins over Neosho, New Convenant

Baseball Tigers go 4-2 in busy week of play, including action in Columbia
 
The Willard High School girls’ soccer team picked up two more wins last week at home, defeating Neosho and New Covenant Academy.
The Lady Tigers hosted Neosho on Thursday, April 14, and came away with a 6-2 win. Katelyn Magee led the way with three goals, while Morgan Hall added a goal in the win and Kenadie Limb had an assist.
“It was senior night,” said head coach Jamie Waddell. “I am proud of our seniors, they have put a lot of time into developing our program. They are going to be missed.”
Willard opened the week with a 4-0 shut out of New Covenant Academy at home on Tuesday, April 12. Magee again led the way with two goals and Charlie Cowan had a goal and an assist.
“It was very windy and tough to play in, but the ladies responded well and got the job done,” said Waddell.
Willard is now 8-2 on the season and were scheduled to travel to Webb City last night and Carl Junction tomorrow before returning home to host Springfield Parkview on Friday night.
Baseball
In baseball, Willard played six games last week going 4-2. The Tigers traveled to Columbia on Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16.
On Saturday, the Tigers took both of their games, defeating Rolla, 5-2, and Blair Oaks, 3-2, but the Tigers split a pair of games on Friday, beating Columbia Battle, 6-1, and losing to Francis Howell, 8-0.
Willard went to Neosho on Thursday, April 14, and came home with a 7-4 win, but lost at Nixa on Tuesday, April 12, 10-2.
The Tigers are now 15-5 on the season and were scheduled to host Parkview, tonight and Carl Junction, tomorrow night.
