Elizabeth “Libby” Smith

Elizabeth “Libby” Smith, passed away June 22, 2019. She was born Feb. 17, 1945, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Paul and Pauline (Claypool) White.
When she was a child she spent many summers with her aunt Irene, Claypool in Walnut Grove.
She graduated from Phoenix Union High School, Grand Canyon University and received her master’s in education from Arizona State Uni- versity. She met the love of her life Eddie “Ed” while attending Grand Canyon University. Both majored in music and education. They were blessed with 53 years of marriage, four children and eight grandchil- dren. She retired from Peoria Unified School District. She enjoyed singing in church choirs and ensembles, traveling, camping and hiking.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Paul Wayne White. Services will be held in Arizona at a later date.
