Joy Wok soon off the clock

Changes coming to Ash Grove’s only Chinese restaurant
In the coming month, Ash Grove staple Joy Wok will be undergoing not only a change in ownership and management, but a change in name, too. The new name for the operation will be Lucky Star. This will be the second time that this particular establishment has rebranded itself, the last time in 2016, from the previous restaurant’s moniker Golden Dragon.
The change is coming after more than four years of business and many satisfied customers served. Along with the refresh, the building has already been modified in preparation for the new restaurant. The windows, parking lot and flooring have all been remodeled.
Jena Fleming, an employee since the early days of Golden Dragon, seemed a bit sad to see the eatery under new management.
“The family has become like family to me, they have been there for me for a long time,” she said.
When asked about what she loved most about working in the restaurant, she said she has a soft spot for the clientele.
“I’ve come to know my customers and really care for them all … Great food and great atmosphere to be in,” she said.
The new owners of the outfit are Hien Thach and Mong Linh Phuong Ho
Fleming expected the new decision makers to offer similar menu and comparable pricing. She said that they expect new signs to arrive within the month of September though she is unsure of an exact date.
Though locals will have to wait a few weeks for the complete update of one of the town’s only restaurants, they can thank their lucky stars it’s not gone for good.
