Convoy of Hope hub moving to Republic

Non-profit organization adds to growing Brookline industrial area

Humanitarian organization Convoy of Hope is building a new 230,000 square-foot distribution center in Republic. According to a press release by Mike Landis, public information officer for the city of Republic, construction has already begun on the new facility, which will be located on Carnahan Street near James River Freeway and MM, in the Brookline area on a property that boasts 135 acres.
The current Convoy warehouse in Springfield has reportedly been sold to O’Reilly Automotive.
Per a press release from the organization, Convoy of Hope’s new distribution center “will house food items and products needed for relief operations.”
The project is expected to have a “world-wide” impact.
“It’ll also serve as the organization’s international transportation hub,” Landis wrote in the press release. “Convoy of Hope says the new center will allow it to expand its outreach and serve more people than ever.”

 David Cameron, city administrator, said the Convoy of Hope will be a welcome addition to the community.
“The City of Republic is honored to partner with Convoy of Hope to move its warehousing operations to the community,” he said. “We look forward to having this life-changing organization as part of our family.”
Landis also said that the construction of the new distribution center is only the latest in a series of projects that are transforming the City of Republic.
“Convoy of Hope is one of many significant developments currently taking shape in Republic,” he said. “Over the last few months, city leaders have been in talks with several large-scale commercial developers interested in the Highway MM corridor. As a result, multiple proposed projects are now in the works. The city is looking forward to sharing more details very soon.”
