Ash Grove FFA holds successful labor auction

SOLD! On Sept. 12, the Ash Grove FFA Chapter hosted their annual Labor Auction in which local FFA members donate four hours of their time to be hired for various labor jobs across the local and rural Ash Grove area.
As per tradition, the funds for each student auctioned off go to the Ash Grove FFA Chapter as a Service-Learning fundraising opportunity. This unique fundraiser allows our program to serve our community, while generating much needed funding for our year of activities and professional experiences for our members.
The event kicked off with an invocation by treasurer Kaylee May, which was followed by a brief program led by our officer team on the dignity of labor, and a chili supper. The top 5 buyers for the evening included Mr. Keith McElroy, Dr. Rachel Griffin, Mr. Dakota Cady, Mr. David Hazelrigg, and Mr. Jeff Hines. The buyer purchasing the most lots came in as a tie between Mr. Keith McElroy and Wilson-Griffin Funeral Home with a total of three lots purchased each. The top selling groups of students included Lot 11 - Payton Griffin and Elijah Morrison, Lot 7 - Luke Elliot and Cannon Palmer, Lot 21 - Jasper Seidel and Cooper Burks, Lot 6 - Hope Reel and SchanDona Redman, and Lot 19 - Brock Mooneyham and Parker Crow. Our program would like to publicly thank Dr. Jerry Crownover for donating his auctioneer services, and were honored that this was his inaugural auction as a Colonel, following his recent graduation from the World-Wide College of Auctioneering this summer.
Of course, this event would never be possible without the contributions of the parents of our members, all buyers, and chapter FFA members. Our program greatly appreciates the incredible support that we received during this event.
At the end of the night, over $6,055.00 was raised for the Ash Grove FFA Chapter. Thank you Ash Grove community for making this a success for our chapter!
