Norreva Simmons

Norreva Simmons, 91, Buffalo, passed away at her home Saturday, Oct. 3,
2020. She was born Jan. 8,1929 to Lew and Nellie (Biellier) Sifferman in
Halltown.
Simmons attended Mt. Vernon High School and enjoyed playing the trumpet
in the band. She graduated in 1946. She married in 1947 and this union was
blessed with seven children, Beverly, Charolette, Gloria, Ricky, Teresa,
Kimberly and Clay. She remarried in 1968 to E.M. Simmons and after the
passing of his daughter Kathy Berlekamp, they raised her son, Bobby
Berlekamp as their own.
Simmons worked for Zenith for 19 years. In 1958 she and her husband were
named Farmer of The Year for their installation of a glass milking system
pipeline for their Grade A dairy farm that they owned and operated just
outside the Stotts City area.
Simmons is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband E.M., her
brother; Dale, her sister Hildred, as well as her stepdaughter; Kathy.
Left to mourn her passing are her children; Beverly Simmons, Charolette and
husband Rick Phillips, Gloria Garner, Ricky and wife Pam Carter, Teresa and
husband Kent Collins, Kimberly and husband Mark Cobb, Clay and wife
Donna, and Bobby and wife Angie Berlekamp, 13 grandchildren, several
great-grandchildren, brothers; Wayne and Norris and sister; Regina Maness,
as well as a host of nieces, nephews and countless friends.
A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020 from 10–11 a.m. in the
chapel at Meadors Funeral Home, Republic. Funeral Services will follow at 11
a.m. with Pastor Lee Miller officiating. Burial will take place in Rock Prairie
Cemetery, Halltown.
