Dr. Mark Ross Smith

Dr. Mark Ross Smith, 52, of Springfield died Aug. 5, 2021. Smith was born Oct. 24, 1968 in Thomas, Okla. to James Everett and Alberta Ryan Smith.
He earned bachelor’s and master’s degree from Oklahoma State University and an M.D. from the University of Missouri College of Medicine.
Smith was preceded in death by his father, James Everett Smith and his grandparents “Jimmy” Ross Smith, Jr. and Mary of Davis, Okla. and Dr. Albert Ryan and Mary of Thomas, Okla.
Smith is survived by his mother, Alberta Williams of Muskogee, Okla., "Pop" John L Williams and siblings, Chris Smith (Jeanette) of Edmond, Okla., Jami Moseley (Bill) of Ft. Collins, Colo., Jenni Dunn (Wes) of Muskogee, Okla., and Patricia Cobb (Earl) of Muskogee, Okla., eleven nieces and nephews and three great-nephews.
In addition, he leaves a host of friends, coworkers and his former wife Traci Hansen. Smith’s family will have a private service at a later date. His care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home Ltd. DeGraffenreid - Wood Crematory.
