After being postponed due to weather, the Republic Parks and Recreation Department held the grand opening of the Jurassic Range at Brookline Park on Monday, Nov. 1. About 35 people registered to participate in the event.
The Jurassic Range is a 3-D archery range, with five hunting lanes and eight dinosaur targets; the Parks and Rec Department chose a dinosaur theme to make the range more exciting for children. The targets are positioned between seven and 20 yards from the shooting position, making the range easier for beginning archers. The range will be open again staring in March of 2022 through November of 2022; during this time, it will be available one weekend day per month and on weekdays when school isn't in session. Birthday parties can also be held there.
