McMillin’s big day highlights Republic track district meet

Alaina Norman set a personal and school record in the javelin throw, winning the district championship.

Devon McMillin’s jump of 6’ 3.5- was good enough to win a district championship.
Republic track athletes qualify for sectionals in 15 total events at Carl Junction
Devon McMillin led the way for Republic at the district track meet in Carl Junction, Saturday. McMillin qualified for sectionals in all four of his events. He was a district champion in the high jump. In all, Republic qualified for sectionals in 15 events.
Kristin Probst and Alaina Norman each finished the day with two district championships. Norman won a district championship in the javelin throw. She broke her own school record with a toss of 39.11 meters. She was also part of one winning relay. Probst was part of two winning relay teams.
The 4x400m relay team of Aaliyah Vasquez, Gracie Woods, Norman, and Kristen Probst finished first in their race. So did the 4x800m relay team of Miha Nambara, Gracie Troester, Misora Nambara and Probst.
The top four finishers in each event will participate at the sectional meet in Waynesville, Saturday. Here’s a list of other qualifiers from Republic:
