Ash Grove’s Torbett wins Mo. Class 2 long jump championship

Three players from Ash Grove baseball chosen to take part in inaugural baseball all-star game
 
The final sport for Ash Grove High School has come to an end, as the Class 2 track and field championships were held on Friday, May 20, and Saturday, May 21, in Jefferson City.
Julianna Torbett took home the gold medal as she finished first in the long jump, with a leap of 17’4”. Torbett was also part of the eighth-place finish 4X200 relay team with Bethany Wheeler, Lillian Benton and Alexis Bryan. Torbett finished 12th place in the high jump with a jump of 4’8” and 14th in the 200 meters with a time of 27.12
Jamalynn Atkinson finished 12th in the discus with a toss of 97’5” and finished 14th in the shot put with a throw 31’8”
Ash Grove, Willard baseballers named all-stars
On June 15, the first ever SWMO Sports Baseball All-Star Game will be held at US Ballpark in Ozark and three members of the Ash Grove High School baseball team have accepted invitations to participate. Parker Crow, Bryce Davis and Brock Mooneyham will all suit up one last time this season.
Twenty other players from 11 other schools have also committed to play and will be taking the field on June 15. Jacksen Smith, Blane Young, Wyley Brown, and Cale Clark from Marionville; Logan Daniels, Jaxon Rowden, and Gerin Geitz from Fair Grove; Payton Bryant, Dylan Henry, and Chad Noble from Seymour; Ryan Retone and Sam Russo from Nixa; Klayton Kiser and Kyden McMain from Willard; Garyn Hall of Houston; Haden Madewell from Marion C. Early; Jacob Sinning of Norwood; Trey Hughes from Purdy; Aiden Wallace of Springfield Central and Evan Helton of Strafford are all scheduled to attend.
