David Michael Pendergrass

David (Davy) Michael Pendergrass, 62, of Everton passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2022 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
    Pendergrass was born in Kansas City, Kan. on June 16, 1960 to David and Carol (Adcox) Pendergrass.
    Pendergrass had a dedicated work ethic throughout his life. At 25, he completed a firefighter training course. He then worked in mechanical maintenance on industrial machinery for the next three decades. Pendergrass has spent his recent years enjoying a career as a farmhand/mechanic.
    Pendergrass was a talented guitarist with a deep love of music and could spend hours strumming his favorite songs on his guitars.
    Pendergrass is preceded in death by his father, David L., and his son, David Austin.
    Pendergrass is survived by his mother, Carol; his children: Sara Williams and partner, Charlie Ennis, of Everton; Emily Westpfahl and husband, Lance, of Everton, and Jesse Pendergrass of Springfield; siblings Debbie Clark and husband, Basil, of Ash Grove; Tammy O'Bryan and husband, Mark, of Kansas City, Kan.; Stan Pendergrass and wife, Valerie, of Bois D'Arc; Connie Burch and husband, Danny, of Bonner Springs, Kan.; four grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
    Memorial services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022 at Birch Funeral Home in Ash Grove.
