Ronald Arthur Harness

Ronald Arthur Harness, 83, Walnut Grove, passed away Aug. 4, 2022, at his home. He was born in Springfield, to Everett Harness and Alma (Harness) Swimley on Sept. 17, 1938. He married the love of his life, Roma Lee (Long) Harness on Oct. 15, 1960; eventually sharing over 61 years together. She developed Alzheimer's and he did everything in his power to care for her until he could no longer do it. She currently resides in the Ash Grove Healthcare Facility.  
Harness joined the U.S. Navy in his early years. After leaving the Navy, he did residential construction and eventually had his own construction company building homes.
Harness is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Alma; brother Carl Harness; son Ronald Arthur Harness, Jr.; and son-in-law, Bryan Wade.
Harness is survived by his wife Roma Lee Harness; daughter Rene Wade; brother Jerald Harness; sister-in-law Shirley Ross; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; family and friends; including his best friend, Bob Ross.  
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield.
