Republic’s 200-yard freestyle relay team broke a school record by more than two seconds Saturday at the Ozarks Invitational in Springfield. The team of Aubree Tinsley, Elise Replogle, Mei Pruett, and Amelia Beaver finished in 1:53.92 at Foster Natatorium.
The record-breaking performance highlighted a strong team showing that saw Republic finish ninth in a 17-team field despite having only five swimmers. The old record had been set last year by Pruett, Tinsley, Addison Penney, and Julia Walsh.
Replogle added two individual top-four finishes, placing third in the 200 individual medley and fourth in the 100 breaststroke. Tinsley earned two 10th-place finishes in the freestyle sprints, and Beaver placed 10th in the 100 backstroke.
The same group, with Sara Chism swimming in place of Pruett, added a seventh-place finish in the medley relay.
