Woman issued warrant after 2024 Republic child abuse incident

Nearly two years later, a woman has been charged with child endangerment after an incident at the Republic license office in 2024.
 
According to a probable cause statement, Lyndsee Ann Bond was witnessed by many in the license office “slamming” a child’s head under a desk.
 
Bond is being charged with abuse or neglect of a child with no sexual contact and first-degree child endangerment after an incident stemming from March 5, 2024. On this day, Bond brought her toddler into the license office, where witnesses said she was aggressive with the child before stepping foot in the building.
 
According to the probable cause statement, once inside, the woman reportedly “slammed" the toddler’s head against the counter, with a responding officer later noting that the child had red markings on their forehead.
 
The probable cause statement contains the testimony of eight total witnesses, each of them claiming to have witnessed Bond showing aggression toward the child, who was two or three years old at the time.
 
Witness 1 noted that they heard the sound of the toddler’s head thumping against wood and saw Bond drag the child out from under the desk. They then called 911. Witness 5 claims that they saw the woman swat the child in the head and shoulder area. Other witnesses described hearing repeated thuds.
 
Authorities also reviewed camera footage of the incident, but no conclusions could be drawn from this evidence as the camera angle made it difficult to observe the victim.
 
In an interview with police after the fact, Bond said that child was her boyfriend’s. She stated that she may have pushed the child but not in a rough manner, saying later that it was just a nudge. She said that the child was hungry and “fussy” and that she was stressed.
 
The responding officer would later look over the injuries of the victim, observing red markings on his forehead and scalp in addition to a small, quarter-sized bump on the side of his forehead. The officer noted that the victim was not crying and that he had only superficial injuries.
 
Following this, the victim’s father arrived on the scene. He refused to have the child examined by EMS and said he did not wish to pursue charges.
 
A warrant was issued for Bond’s arrest on Feb. 25, 2026.
