Roger Ray Dummit

Roger Ray Dummit, 74, of Aurora,passed away on Sept. 7, 2026, at his home. He was born on May 14, 1952, in Aurora, to Harold and Juanita (Ray) Dummit. 
 
He graduated from Aurora High School in 1970 and was a true Houn Dawg.
 
On Aug. 2, 1975, he married Holly (Blevins) Dummit. Together, they shared 51 years of marriage.
He is survived by his two children, Ramona (Jason) Bradley of Aurora and Jared (Monica) Dummit of Aurora; five grandchildren; siblings, Susan (Gary) Westra of Pierce City, Eric (Lisa) Dummit of Marionville, and David (Karen) Dummit of Republic.
 
He was a member of Reavisville First Baptist Church.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Juanita Dummit, and his nephew, Neal Westra.
 
Memorial service was held Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. in the Reavisville Baptist Church with Mark Reavis officiating under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Maple Park Cemetery.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to one of the following scholarships. Luke Willhite Memorial Scholarship – Donations may be made directly to Peterson Funeral Chapel or First Independent Bank.
