For the first time ever, the Republic girls tennis team won the Nixa Tournament championship. Of the four brackets, Republic won two of them. Kaitlyn Snyder was the champion in No. 1 singles, and Carly McAtee and Hannah Morgan teamed up to win the No. 2 doubles bracket.
Republic football coach Dustin Baldwin made a lot of changes to try to turn around the Tigers after an 0–4 start. Those changes paid off, helping Republic to a 27–20 win at Willard.
The first play of the game pretty much set the table for the district opener for the Nodaway Valley Wolverines against Class A No. 5 Council Bluffs St. Albert.
Anyone that left early last Thursday night missed a come-from-behind win for the Nodaway Valley volleyball team against MSTM. The Wolverines dropped the first two sets before rallying to win the next three to gain the win.

The Nodaway Valley boys finished third at the state golf meet, which was held in Marshalltown last Friday and Saturday. It’s the highest finish at state for the boys.
