Shine, Inc. set to open this Saturday in new location on Main St., Ash Grove

Shine, Inc. (formerly A Night to Shine) will open in its new location at 116 West Main Street, Ash Grove, on Saturday, Feb. 22. The non-profit will be operating a dress boutique in a space above Griffin Industries. Stuart Coutchie, owner of Griffin Industries, donated the space for Shine, Inc.

Berklacy arrested in Ash Grove for domestic assault, other crimes

A Springfield man was arrested in Ash Grove on a variety of charges after he allegedly forced an area woman into a bedroom against her will at her residence and tried to keep her from leaving her home. Alexander Josef Berklacy was arrested in Ash Grove on Tuesday, Feb.

After decades of use, several pieces of playground equipment at Ash Grove City Park are being retired to the playground in the sky. The old equipment is now deemed unsafe, by today’s standards, and will be replaced with all new pieces.

Republic Father-Daughter dance enjoys record attendance

The Republic Parks and Recreation Department held their 16th annual Father/Daughter Valentine Dance at the Republic Community Center on Friday, Feb. 7. An estimated 1,000 people attended; the largest attendance at the event to date.

KC Chiefs bail out AG Chief in friendly wager

KOMA Beef Cattle Conference at Springfield Stockyards, Feb. 18

Extension services in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas are providing a joint conference titled the KOMA Beef Cattle Conference.  This year’s Missouri portion of the conference will begin a 4 p.m. Feb. 18,  at the Springfield Livestock Marketing Center in Springfield.
