Karl Brown joined the Old Missouri Bank team in December as the new Marketing Manager. Brown will be responsible for the day to day functions of the marketing department, as well as strategic initiatives and innovation.

The Republic City Council, at the request of owner Bussell Building, Inc., voted to grand a rezone of 35.33 acres at 2887 East Hines Street, opening the door to a future subdivision.
Ash Grove resident Dan Downing was officially appointed to Ash Grove’s Planning and Zoning Board by Mayor Les Gardner at the Jan. 6 meeting of the Ash Grove Board of Aldermen. Downing was present at the board meeting and is set to start his position immediately.
Christina Duckett, of Springfield, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Friday, Jan. 10, for the murder of Joshua Brooks, of Republic. The jury found Duckett guilty of sencond-degree in a jury trial on Nov. 1.

Freedom Bank of Southern Missouri announced that it and its parent bank holding company, Freedom Bancshares of Southern Missouri, Inc. have entered into an agreement to merge with Community National Bank, Monett, with Freedom Bank surviving the bank merger.
