In volleyball, the Lady Pirates defeated Buffalo in three sets, 25-20, 20-25 and 25-23. Ash Grove is now 3-2 on the season and was scheduled to host Skyline on Tuesday before heading to Sarcoxie tomorrow night.
The Ash Grove High School football team traveled to Class 1, second ranked Pierce City on Sept. 20 and the Lady Pirates volleyball team traveled to Buffalo on Sept. 19, one came home with a win, one didn’t.
The Willard High School volleyball and girls golf
teams were both in action last week, with the volleyball team picking up two wins and the golf team competing in two tournaments.
The Willard High School softball team went 1-1 last week, while the boys soccer team was 1-4 during the same period.
The Lady Tigers hosted Neosho on Thursday, Sept. 12, but fell to the Lady Wildcats, 3-2.

After two bad losses to Kickapoo and Glendale and an injury to one of its starters, Republic’s volley- ball team returned home to look for a little good news. They got it in the form of a straight-sets win over Moun- tain Grove, 25-14, 25-17.
After a fast start to the season, Repub- lic’s busy schedule may have caught up to it during the weekend Ozarks Fall Festival Tourna- ment. The Lady Tigers went 2-3 against stiff competition after starting the season
with seven straight wins.
On a night of big plays and big performances, Carl Junction made one more big play than Republic. The result was a 55-48 Bulldogs win, despite a huge night for Republic quarterback Lucas Hayes.
The Ash Grove High School football and volleyball teams were both in action last week coming home with wins.
In football, the Pirates traveled to Pleasant Hope on Friday, Sept. 13 and came home with a 52-0 win.
The Ash Grove football team traveled to Stockton on Friday, Sept. 6, and came home with an 18-0 loss for their trouble.
