Miha Nambara continued her streak of medaling at every cross country meet this year, finishing fifth at the Central Ozark Conference championships in Nisa Tuesday. Nambara finished in 20:22.40.
Two of the Central Ozark Conference’s best offenses battled in Carthage Friday, and Carthage’s offense turned out to be a little bit better. In a game that showcased more than 900 yards of total offense, Carthage accounted for 560 of those yards in a 54-34 win.
Webb City pitcher Haidyn Berry shut down the Lady Tigers softball lineup for the second time this season, helping the Cardinals capture the district championship over Republic 4-0 in Carthage. Berry allowed just five hits and struck out 12 batters in a complete-game performance.
Republic’s seniors led the way in a victory over Springfield Parkview on Senior Night, beating the Vikings 20-25, 26-24, 25-8. Senior Rylee Moseman had 11 kills to lead Republic. Moseman and another senior, Emma Pearce, had 10 digs apiece.
Both the Ash Grove High School volleyball team and football were in action last week, with the volleyball team winning twice, while the foot- ball team fell abruptly.
