Roger L. “Bud” Head passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mt. Vernon. He was 95. He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Alma Jean Head; his son Gary Head; his sister, Faye Forrester; and his parents William and Grace Head.
Barbara Jean Batson, 88, of Pierce City, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 while at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. She was born in Wentworth on Sept. 12, 1931; the daughter of the late Elva and Stella (Taylor) Riddle. She was united in marriage on June 15, 1988 in Miami, Okla.
Nancy Ann Morris, 78, of Willard, passed away at her home on Friday, March 20, 2020 with family by her side. She was born Wednesday, July 9, 1941 in Centreville, Ill. to Earl Smith and Eileen Gardyne.
Carol Louise “Lou” Erven Chastain Mahurin Stewart, 73, of Springfield, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020. Stewart was born Nov. 20, 1946 to Helen Louise Farmer Erven Lewis and Edwin Erven in Oxnard, Calif. She moved to Springfield, and graduated from Hillcrest High School.
Mark Allen Amtower, 25, passed away at his home in Clever, March 26.
Amtower was a graduate of Clever High School, class of 2013. He was a volunteer for Clever Fire Department for a short time, as well as, a volunteer for Clever Police Department.
Wilma Edna Barrett, 88, of Republic, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 7 p.m. at Mercy Hospital, Springfield. She was born Nov. 11, 1931 in Eudora, Ark., to Wesley and Maddy (Kersh) Smith.
